Update Time:
I re-installed RedHat7.2 from scratch, and then re-ran NVchooser.sh. I must
have misread the results before because I had been trying the entire time to
install the WRONG ones lol. Sorry for the posts which needless, but you guys
did help me have the patience to back up, start fresh, and stop pulling my
hair out.
Once I got the drivers installed properly everything was a snap. I was able
to get TransGaming's WineX installed without a hitch, and I even have
Halflife installed. I am using this system to try to see just how much I can
do in Linux, and avoid using XP. So far so good, and I am installing
OpenOffice now to eliminate the need for Microsoft Office.
Unfortunately the means by which Wine works is detected as a cheat for
Counter-Strike, and I am now banned from multiple servers when trying to
join. I am still going to get the rest of my games installed, and I will let
you guys know my success levels if your interested.
One last question I have is if anyone has used or is familiar with the
Microsoft Strategic Commander. They are no longer selling it, but I am very
much dependant upon it in games. I not only have been using for several
years since they were released, but I bought multiple backups when I learned
they were no longer being sold by Microsoft.
I would like to find out how to get it installed in linux native, and have
drivers for it. I imagine I might have to develop something for it on my
own, but I have no idea where to begin. It is a USB device which is detected
by RedHat upon installed. I am just not sure where to head from here to get
it functioning. Would simple Wine be enough? Should I work to find a truly
Linux native solution for it?
Thanks for your time, help, and patience. I hope you all have a great day,
and take care.
