You need to find the file prefs.js in your .netscape or .mozilla
directory.  It may be a few subdirectories down - just do a find for it.

Anyway, that's the file you want to edit.  You can manually edit it
using vi or emacs or whatever editor you wish.

My entry for RealPlayer in the file looks like this:

user_pref("browser.helperApps.neverAsk.openFile",
"audio%2Fx-pn-realaudio");

That's all on one line - sorry about the wordwrap.
