It's not unlikely to see something that looks like a long MAC
hit your dhcp server... it's usually M$ RAS (which you generally
filter out in one's dhcpd.conf).  I know this is WAY off topic,
but something you may run into.  It's possible that the
infrastructure being used does something similar and that's
why the apparently long value.
