Howdy,
   I have been quite happy with my Smoothwall setup.  Download it at 
http://www.smoothwall.org  It is a linux based setup runs well on about any 
Pentium machine up.  If you don't have a spare computer, go to First 
Saturday and buy one for $10 to $20.  You need to be sure it has two NICs 
or add them if needed.  For this use, two 10 base T cards are just as good 
as two 100 base T. This is because your pipe to the internet is only 1.5 
MB/s or less anyway. You can keep using your LinkSys for now as a local 
switch if you have enough ports.  There is no advantage to buying a new 
switch unless you need more ports.
