for the record i have a web page that i use for myself and a few
friends.. at&t hasn't blocked it or called me up about it (not like i'm
trading movies off it or anything) also have mail server running and
that too has not caused any trouble

no fixed ip addresses here but i get around that by dynamic dns, so i
can always log in from wherever and check my mail or whatever by ssh

TI has VPN software that only runs on windows they will want you to use
from home. It's Cisco VPN software.. can't think of the name right now,
but I remember setting it up for a buddy at TI.. the software caused all
sorts of problems for his XP system.. slow boots, no system tray.. no
start button.. he eventually had to nuke his system. We looked on
google groups and found another guy using win2k who had the same
trouble. Now he uses it on another computer and hasn't had problems
since.
