I started reading this thinking, 'Oh crud, another off-topic post.'
However, this has got me thinking about future threats to Linux.

The real shame of an MS power-grab that would consume the server side of
communications is that I have never enjoyed operating systems I couldn't
dig in to, and where I didn't get to learn different environments. I
got an Apple II a long time ago, and quickly installed Pascal. Then I
got a CP/M card, and then I went to a Unix-like system that ran on the
Apple - wish I could remember what it was called, but it was a nice
precursor to the way things would be.

Linux - I get to feel like a pioneer tending a campfire out on the
frontier, but I have the help of enormous resources on the 'Net. I
would really hate to see that disappear.

Regards,

Carl
