[NTLUG:Discuss] Printing problem.

The weirdest thing just started happening to my machine. I'm printed
some maps from within Mozilla - when I notice that the image part of
the page is printing at about three dots per inch! The text still
looks OK and the colours are right - but 3dpi!! Everything is coming
out with large pixels - about a third of an inch across.
So, I power down the printer - wait a few minutes and try again.
Same thing.
I reboot Linux *and* power down the printer...same thing!
I'm using SuSE - so I go to the YaST control panel and reinstall
the printer - nothing seems to change and I try printing the test
page - it works just fine.
Now I go back to Mozilla and print *any* page and as before, all
the images are coming out at 3dpi!
I tried printing using the monochrome settings and the colour settings,
same thing.
It's weird because I've been using this same printer on the same PC
with the same settings for over a year.
The printer is a Canon BJC 7004 (a fairly obscure model which
has always worked OK using the BJ 800 drivers at 300 or 600 dpi).
I'd guess that my printer was on the fritz - but that doesn't
explain how text is coming out OK - or how the SuSE test page
prints perfectly.
Weird or what?
