I've been to CUPS, Linuxprinting, Mandrake, LDP, local system docs, HP,
and even a couple newsgroups :( Nobody has any mention of the printer
not talking to the hpijs driver. I found some issues but none where the
driver was just silent. I'm beginning to think I'm the only one in the
world having this problem.
Just an update, it's not a parport0 vs lp0 issue. I double checked my
startup logs and parport0 is being tied to /dev/lp0 as the device.
I'm going to try removing the lp module and see if that works. I know
that using VMWare and trying to attach LP1 to parport0 will not work if
the lp module is active. I'm grasping at straws but I may not have a
rope to grab onto at this point.
