[NTLUG:Discuss] linux and diskonchip - compact flash seems best

Thanks to everyone who gave input. Some suggested that I look into
compact flash instead of diskonchip. I have done so and this seems to be
the best solution. By 'best' I mean cheapest and still does what I want
it to do.

I now have a usb cf reader/writer on development box which I use to
transfer the rootfs and kernel to the cf disk. I'm using syslinux as
boot loader and loading the fs into ramdisk. I'm using the ide to cf
adapter so, nothing special about the kernel is necessary.

Thanks again for pointing me to the ide-cf adapter!

Cheers,
-Rob
