Of course the probable outcome of this passing would be Microsoft
'donating' a pile of freebies to the state in order to stay in the
game...but Texas should win either way - so it's a good thing.

It's said that if Microsoft believes that an organisation is
likely to start investigating OpenSource solutions, their sales
rep's are immediately authorised to start offering M$ products
and services with 50% price reductions in order to keep them
hooked.
