[NTLUG:Discuss] Dead Drive?

Can someone please confirm that this is really telling me my hard drive 
is about dead:

[root at localhost root]# smbmount //alohaboh/aloha /exports -o 
username=user%pass

returns:

Bus error

and tail /var/log/messages shows the following:

Tried fscking the drive, still no bueno.

At this point I'll settle for confirm the drive is just about dead.

Only happens with smbmount.
