In case anyone else was curious, while I was trying to go to sleep I realized
where I had heard of this before. It is called Hastymail and is developed by
Jonathan Angliss who is still one of the SquirrelMail leads and a resident of
Dallas. Hastymail's goal is to be the fastest webmail client available and I
think it looks pretty nice. Unfortunately, it only supports IMAP. It seems to
be under active development but has not yet made an official release.
http://hastymail.sourceforge.net/

Anyway, sorry for the OT. Maybe I can sleep easily now.
