Since you didnt mention it, try opening a terminal as root and typing
sndconfig. That may help.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Question about Linux Installation Project

Hello all-

Linux newbie here, this is my first post, and I do plan on
attending the next meeting on Saturday. My question regards the
Linux Installation Project and Beginning Linux presentations
before the main meeting...

I have successfully installed RedHat 8.0 several times on a
couple of old Pentium II clunkers I've got laying around.
Everything has gone very smoothly with the exception of getting
sound to work (both with the machines' on-board sound and an old
SoundBlaster PCI 16 card I have). Is this the kind of issue that
someone could help me out with at LIP? Or does that go beyond
the scope of the presentation?

Thanks in advance,
Richard Wolfe
