Careful before you jump off that cliff.

SSL can only support a single host.  No virtual hosts.

You'll need a certificate and if it's self generated all your users will 
have to manually accept and save it.

It seems that some network appliances don't pass port 443 without 
telling them to.  I've got a pipeline 50 that required me to give it a 
static mapping for port 443.  I don't know why, it just did.

SSL is much slower than http do to the size and cpu usage of encrypted data.

Not all users can access your secure site.  I've found that WebTV users 
have problems with my key.
