I installed the Nortel/Netlock cvc_linux VPN software.
This VPN client use a web browser for its interface.
To start the client, you just type "http://127.0.0.1:9161"
in your Netscape browser.

When I do this I get:
"Netscape connection refused by server 127.0.0.1:9161"

Now 127.0.0.1 is just the loopback address, and I can ping
127.0.0.1 OK.
I might expect to get "connectione refused by server" in the
browser if I had the firewall turned on, but in "/etc/rc.config" it says:
START_FW="no"

I also have telnet, login and ftp services turned on.
So what else could be blocking port 9161 which the
VPN client expects to be open?

Is there a way to display the status of ports ?
or
a way to manually force a port to be open ?
