This is the 'official' yahoo messenger 1.0 RC1 (so beta) for Linux. It
does support the file transfers and most other features of Windows,
expect Voice and IMvironments. It has all the tabs (sports, news,
bookmarks, finance, weather, etc..) as the windows version, and
integrates nicely with Mozilla (can open links in new tabs, or so it
says).

I am working on getting other formats.
As far as requirements, I am not sure. I know it has been used on RH7.x
and above. I know it uses Gtk and GtkHTML, but comes with a library for
that, because it is modified. The RPM installs in /opt/ymessenger

The last public release can be found here

Since several people have expressed an interest,

I use messenger daily, and since installing this one have not
experienced any problems, and it is _much_ faster and has more features
than the old version.
