My understanding is that the chipset in the v4 is not supported by
Linux.  (I, too, spent a lot of time on google trying to get mine
working).  Linksys, however, will swap your v4 for a v3 (it will only
cost you the postage to send your v4 to them...they pick up the return
postage).  I'm happily using my v3, as we speak.
