That is exactly what I am interested in (the time it takes ... to 
execute).  I am trying to "master" all the possibilities of "time" so I 
can select whichever output seems best, but so far all I can get is the 
"default" output.  Another response suggested "su" (run as root user), 
but that isn't making any difference.
