I've had 2 verizon dsl accounts here in plano and both were
straight dhcp. I think that holds true for all of the old
GTE area.
On the most recent account (2 weeks ago) I had to call them to find
out my user id and password, but neither of those are required to
come up with dhcp. If you use their CD in a windows box it probably
tells you your user ID and password (while scrambling your network
connections), but with linux....
