[NTLUG:Discuss] SuSE 8.2 startup screen resolution

Howdy,
   One small problem with that SuSE 8.2 box(or with my setup of it) is that 
the screen is unreadable until it get to where it asks you to login.  The 
monitor I used when I set it up was a nice Dell 15" high resolutio 
Trinitron.  But, in the eguipment room, I am using a 9 inch color VGA that 
will do 800 x 600 at 56 Hz.  I have adjusted the XFree86 setup and there 
are no problems after the login screen.  But, I would like to see the 
initialization stuff to watch for errors.  Can anyone tell me where to 
adjust the monitor setting for the text stuff at startup?
