[NTLUG:Discuss] Easy Path to V2.5 kernel?

I want to use the v2.5 kernel. I read some good things about 
how it supports the Intel Hyper Threading CPUs. ( this is a 
single CPU but it has SMP features ) 

I installed RedHat 9 on my new box but adding a V2.5 kernel 
on top doesn't seem to be working well. My new kernel hangs
at the 'Uncompressing Kernel' message when it first boots. 

I can spend 12+ hour debugging this, but I'd prefer to find 
a better solution. Is there any distributions that supports the 
v2.5 kernel out of the box ( or as a packaged add on)
