At the moment I cannot recommend the ASUS A7N8X MB, even though I'd like
to. I've grown fond of ASUS products but this one has soured me.
I bought 2 of these in Jan & Feb and still can't get it working. I run
Mandrake and 9.0 would not work with the nForce2 chipset without jumping
through a bunch of kernel hacking hoops. Mandrake 9.1 is working better
but I'm still having problems. The system is simply not stable.
I'm going to have to reinstall the system for about the 5th time because
it crashed and tossed it's cookies on the superblock. I ended up with
about 80 files in lost+found after the last crash and now I've got a
bunch of programs that are missing parts.
When the system is running it's really nice, but I just can't count on it.
