I left out the "X". The proper model number is CMX300.

Doing a google search turns up tons of pages...the first of which is:
http://www.mdiusa.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/best_cmx300.htm?E+scstore

Where it is for sale under $80.

Searching on Pricewatch for CMX300 shows one entry at $73. Last I looked,
it was on the shelves in almost all CompUSA's, and MicroCenter. White and
blue box. The modem itself is beige, thin and flat. It comes with a stand
for vertical positioning if you like.

Mine has never once hicoughed. After tuning my TCP settings on my
computer, I am getting better than 1.6 Mbps most of the time.

As an aside...it's amazing how quickly you get used to that kind of speed
and desire more...or get frustrated because the server on the other end or
something in between is slow...

One part of me wishes I'd gotten a Linksys, so I could stack it and my
router...but it's in a closet, so I don't really care about the aesthetics.
