   I did a google search for ADM 8211. Here is some source
http://www.clockwatching.net/~fin/random/ADM8211_src.tar.gz
that is supposed to be pretty good. 

   It looks like it comes with some precompioled objects, but 
you can compile the module so that it matches your kernel. 
You won't get the 'wrong' version message. 

   Any... give that a shot.
