vmware 4.0 will work with mdk 9.1. you have ot install the
kernel source from your cd so vmware can build its magic agaist
the necessary header files that come with the kernel source code.
you should be able to install from either the menus
Configuration | Packaging | Mandrake Update
and find the entry for kernel source (my preferred way)
or
urpmi kernel-source
though i'm not certain it will find the right source for your
specific installation.
