(1) I'm not going to ask this discuss list for money. I do feel like the
broader Linux consumer base will provide donations. We will need money
to do anything when we seek legal assistance.
I just spoke to the lawyer with EFF -Austin and like anyone else, he'll
need a retainer to assist.
At the moment, we need someone to manager the litigation. We also need
someone who will provide an escrow account for donations and sponsorships.
A member of NTLUG is a lawyer and I don't want to put him on the spot.
But, he could help us with this if he is so disposed.
(2) Linux Lobby was started by Phil Howard and me to fund and spread the
word on SB 1579 - the Texas Open Source Bill. I kept it current until
Senator Carona filed the legislation. Then EFF-Austin took over the push
on the legislation and I let the site go stagnant.
It's all set up for petitions and email campaigns, etc. I just need to
man it and if people have ideas to increase its viability as a web site,
I welcome any participation.
(3) It's dry humor that always gets me in trouble. It must be the heat.
This is a parody on the message Linus sent first sent out to get the
Linux project started in 1991.
hehe?
