[NTLUG:Discuss] Something to ponder (bad Linux enterprise experience article)

First: This is "Op-Ed" not news, and as such offers absolutely no
foundation in fact of any kind. References to unknown sources and
conversations don't count as "foundation in fact."
Second: It is a "Pro MS Op-Ed" piece - understandable when you consider
the publisher.
Third: There are tons of failed projects littering the way, and they
are generally failed for the same basic reasons, no matter what the OS
of choice was.
What to learn? Dashing out to deploy something you know little to
nothing about is extremely iffy at best. Is that what you mean?
Of course the point of the article maybe to keep MS defenders happy with
MS, or maybe just to "sing to the stock market" - Linux/Unix/BSD users
already know better.

Now my pet pieve - MS is good because it got a lot of basically usable
computers out there on people's desks. If we had waited for UNIX or
Linux to do that it still would not have happened. I strongly urge that
we never forget that, and that there is a lesson there as well. That
said I shall add: I love my Mandrake 9.1 - it is the sweetest
workstation I have ever used. You weren't asking for success stories,
so I won't add any.
