[NTLUG:Discuss] Redhat 8.0 kdebase upgrade question

I'm trying to upgrade the kdebase from the RedHat update site, and am
getting

  rpm -Uvh kdebase-3.0.5a-7.i386.rpm

error: unpacking of archive failed on file
/usr/share/doc/HTML/en/kaddressbook/common;3f4dd42: cpio: symlink failed -
Operation not permitted

Googling suggested no file space --not a problem here, and replacing an
existing file with a sylink -- not a problem here, file doesn't exist.

No bugs at RedHat Bugzilla for this one. I re-downloaded the rpm from
another site just in case, same error.

  I tried --force. same error.

Redhat is getting harder and harder to talk to, so I'm not interested in
flagging them, but I may have to. I just want to get the files out of the
archive. The man page didn't give me any clues.

  Any ideas?
