bump up the on-board memory on my TiVo from 16M to 32M. 
More memory... less swapping... faster menu access. 
Not sure if it's $20 + labor faster... but faster. 

I've got a 200Gig drive in there... and 100Mbit network... 
might as well get the extra 16Meg too. ;) 

newer TiVo's come with 32Meg already. 

... the board was designed to do 32Meg... but the 
accountants decided that they could save $5-$10 by
only giving you 1/2 the memory....
