I've given into the conclusion that I'll have to drop the idea of not 
allowing foreign links (bookmarks) to access these pages.

I'm trying to avoid cookies, java, and any such client side helpers. 
One goal is to support browsers that are crippled on client side 
support.  Some of the NC type boxes don't have local storage for 
downloads.  Some of the borrowed computer centres (like libraries) 
restrict writes to disk so cookies become an issue.  Some of the issues 
have been interesting, to put it mildly ;)
