If the network goes down, you don't need DNS.  If the DNS PC hardware 
breaks, you'll probably need to hook up a keyboard and console just to 
be able to access the box.  That's not a normal occurance and does not 
warrant extra hardware just to make it convenient, unless you're a 
wealthy company with money to burn.
