Yes, I've set it as default printer and still no joy.
# lp test.txt
request id is OfficeJet-32 (1 file(s)

although http://via.workgroup.office:631/printers/OfficeJet shows:
Use redhat-config-printer to edit this!
Location:
Printer State: processing, accepting jobs.
Device URI: parallel:/dev/lp0

I'm thinking it's something brain dead stupid and simple but just can't
seem to lay my brain on it. Some permission set wrong someplace or
something like that?

So far I've removed and re-installed the printer a number of times,
installed it from localhost:631, installed it from Control Center,
installed it from redhat-config-printer. I've upgraded cups, downloaded
and installed cups from source, re-installed cups from RH9 CDs, deleted
cups and re-installed from CD, upgraded again, and still nothing out of
the printer accept for a couple of Test Pages.

At one time I was really close, I've got three nicely printed test pages
to prove it, so I'm sure it's something brain dead simple, some
permission set wrong someplace or something like that. And I know, I
know now, that at the point where I printed Test Pages, I should have
fixed what was wrong and NOT proceeded to re-install cups numerous
times, that was prolly wasted effort).

As you see, this last time, I've installe from redhat-config-printer.
Cups configuration seems to be broken. It stalls at:
http://via.workgroup.office:631/admin/?op=add-printer
and when I click on "continue" it does nothing, won't go any further, so
something someplace needs fixing, maybe I just re-install cups again?
Or not?

That's some pretty nice and extensive documentation at
localhost:631/sams.htm , I probably just need to go back and pour over
that some more until it dawns on me.
