[NTLUG:Discuss] sleeping causes problems

Sleeping seems to put this machine into a coma - so far I have disabled 
every kind of power management in BIOS setup, and turned it off in the 
screen saver (Start -> Configuration -> Gnome -> Screensaver: Advanced 
tab: unchecked "Power Management Enabled")

(1) Is there a similar configuration for "XScreenSaver 4.07 Screen Lock" 
- or is that the same thing?
(2) Is there anything else I should be looking at?
