At first glance of the page for ol2mbox I thought it was inactive also but
the latest release is august 20 2003.

I for one wouldn't mind hearing of successes or failures in this endeavor.

Goodness gracious, I hope not.
I sure don't want any Linux program to be handling email in those
atrocious pst files. Microsoft chose to ignore standards and wants to lock
you into their system. Get out now. Use Mozilla and migrate your mail to
a standard format and never look back. This may sound harsh, but I would
not want to encourage anyone to keep their data in proprietary,
non-documented formats.
It looks like ol2mbox on SourceForge has not been updated lately. So
either Outlook has been stable in its file formats for a while or the
project might be out of date. I think I'd try Mozilla first.
I like Evolution. I use 1.4.4 at work and when I get a floppy drive for
my Thinkpad to install Linux with, I'll be using 1.4.5 at home. That's
because I like having my email on a laptop I can take with me, if the need
arises.
Good luck,
Ralph
