[NTLUG:Discuss] Outlook to Linux migration - IMAP & User help

So it seems like I need to go the IMAP route to transfer the email.

I've setup a RedHat9 system using:

http://mirror.mricon.com/qvcs-guide/qvcs-guide.html

I've used this in the past for website email - works great, but now I'm at a
stump trying to figure out how to use it 'internally' or on my intranet.
Searched and found:

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Outlook-to-Unix-Mailbox-3.html

While it's a bit dated, it basically says to configure Outlook with the IP
address of the email server and use the login username/password. After
trying any and all combinations (with IMAP not being able to connect) I'm
not sure what to actually use for username? Here's the 'name'/stats of the
email machine itself:

----------------------------------------------------
[root at localhost root]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.20-20.9 #1 Mon Aug 18 11:45:58 EDT 2003 i686

[root at localhost root]#
----------------------------------------------------------

Seeing how just connecting with with the username 'dsimmons' (the login
name) didn't work, I've tried dsimmons at 192.168.2.134, dsimmons at localhost
(and so on) - with no luck.

I'm probably missing something as plain as the nose on my face, but I'm
stuck - can anyone offer any help?

Thanks in advance

Dave
