Howdy,
I did start this mostly as an educational excercise. I still think it
would be a useful thing to know how to do. I was talking about it to
someone and they asked if I could help get 30 VPN sites set up for them.
I think I trust an Open Source system more than a closed box like the
NetGear. I notice that the NetGear is made in China.and you saw that Steve
Ballmer warned us about code from China ;-)
But seriously, I see reports that the NetGear won't work in Road Warrior
mode with a Windows client unless you buy expensive client software. I
won't really be using a classic Road Warrior mode, but I'll be close. The
clients will be home users whose IP addresses can change every day or
two(i.e., DSL and cable). Do you have experience that says these reports
are wrong? If so, I'd consider buying the NetGear. Its not that much more
expensive that a cheap PC and it is nice and small.
Good day,
Ralph
