Just remember, the path for the consumer line is Fedora.. and not
the RHEL line. Btw... AFAICT, the only server product worth having
is the RHAS $1499 one. The worst positioned one IMHO is the
RHES... who's going to buy that one? And obvioulsy the RHWS
product just doesn't have the server software pieces that we all
love to play with.
The good news is that $1499 (talking about just the x86 32-bit
version of course) is not that bad for most companies.
If you want a consumer based Linux in a box, with pretty
good support (and update support that is EVEN better than
RHAS).. take a look a SUSE. Even SLES is about half the
price of the RHEL line.
Otherwise, I'd give the Fedora thing a fair chance. You might
find it to be better (in fact, since Fedora will likely
support their product, it just has to be better than the late
model RH).
