[NTLUG:Discuss] Build process

Hi,

  We are exploring the idea to port several applications which rely on
Rational ClearCase for version management and build. The idea so far is
that, for version management we will continue to use ClearCase but the
build process will be ported to 'gmake'. We are not porting source code
we are only porting the build process. Namely, scripts, makefiles and
things like that. 

Any information, heads up I need to know before we finalize on this
decision? Any better suggestions?? Any similar experiences ?

Any kind of help will be appreciated.
