[NTLUG:Discuss] Sendmail rejecting authorization with "no secret in database"

Greetings.

I am doing alot of work "out of the office", and some of my clients have DSL Providers who regularly wind up on RBLs (Verizon, for instance). So, I am trying to set up my server to relay email from my Laptop. Both are
running SuSE 8.2, using Sendmail. Amd I have a few issues about configuring it to be an open relay, or even an unauthenticated relay.

I have searched all over for how to set this up, but without any success. I started Ethereal to sniff the network to find out what was happening, but the Sendmails are doing encrypted traffic. Found a tool to decrypt the
traffic, but it needs a few other tools to compile, and I could NOT find them (sources or binaries) on a Google search.

I keep getting the following;
Nov 16 07:12:34 tankjr sendmail[1065]: DIGEST-MD5 server step 1
Nov 16 07:12:34 tankjr sendmail[1065]: DIGEST-MD5 server step 2
Nov 16 07:12:34 tankjr sendmail[1065]: no secret in database

If somebody could point me to a step by step document (or even a couple) on how to set this up (or if somebody wants lunch/dinner/whatever and is willing to set this up for me) it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve
