Hmmm. It looks like your old 2.6GHz P4 had a 400MHz FSB, and
your new 3GHz P4 has an 800MHz FSB (as in 'P4C'). Clearly, your
3GHz part is only running at half the FSB it wants.
What motherboard do you have, perchance? Your motherboard might
not support 800MHz FSB. OTOH it might support a memory divider
so you could run your new P4 async and at least get closer to
the full MHz.
