the NeoMagic 256 AV sound / video card is being a turd.

I run snd config, see the correct driver, and when I load it, the test sound 
is very staticy.  Per online recommendations, I have tried the generic 8 bit 
soundblaster driver, and that gives me a slew of errors.

Is there an RPM I am missing????

and what about making PCMCIA slots work?
