Actually, they have done just the opposite, if you follow their free
product path (Fedora, basically RHL 10) up2date exists, but it uses yum
underneath the covers, and yum is the preferred method to update. Since
RHNs existance, they offered one demo account, but technically you were
supposed to pay $60 per year for up2date. The other option was to manually
download patches on Red Hat's FTP site or mirrors. Yum is free no matter
how you look at it, for patch notification please see the fedora-announce
list at: http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-announce-list.

End of support life for products happens, as a developer, keeping a
pristine environment for x revs to build and test package fixes is fine,
but that is the most revs I want to keep. So as new revs are introduced,
old ones must go away. That said, see below.

If you dont want to pay for a subscription, reap the benefits of the move
to community involvement with the Fedora Project. Fedora-legacy exists to
provide continued support for End of Life Red Hat Linux Platforms and 7.3 is
one of those. They are still getting going, but the yum repository exists
at http://download.fedora.us/fedora/redhat/7.3/i386/ and all of its
mirrors. A mailing list also exists at:
http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-legacy-list

Hope this helps,
Justin
