[NTLUG:Discuss] protecting /dev/null from miswritten redirects.

How does one protect /dev/null from being accidently overwritten by command
output? Yes it's a self inflicted would but I'm tired of the infliction.

I was thinking that IF I were running the ext2 filesystem I could make the
file immutable (?? chmod +i /dev/null ??) but since I'm running on the
reiserfs I'm at a loss for what to do.

Suggestions?
