Here's a suggestion you might consider if you use both Linux and Windows.  This puts only one or the other at a time on a PC with the change over convenient.
 
Get a couple of removable hard drive racks for around $20 each.  One drive has Linux and the other has Windows.   It takes about fifteen seconds to swap between hard drives and there is no conflict between the two operating systems.  Of course, turn off the power bfore swapping.
 
It works great for me!
