That was also a news article on the sophos website. Why couldn't it have
been a Microsoft ploy to make the Linux community look bad?
BTW, Sophos' sweep w/SOPHIE + qmail-scanner worked wonderfully to make the
day calm for some...
Mydoom without Sophos-sweep/SOPHIE worked wonderfully to remind others how
truly cost effective their decisions turned out NOT to be.
Still one company had five individuals who, despite previous warnings from
their higher-ups, still managed to believe that a blank message with the
subject of HI and a zip file meant that they were, in fact, supposed to open
and run the compressed attachment. Sweet!
And of course to keep this on topic.(and Madhat happy ;/ ).I did
successfully use nmap to determine which IP addresses were answering on port
3xxx, BUT I was most disappointed to discover that the HOST name of the DHCP
client did not resolve itself properly in DNS...so now I have to figure out
how to FORCE a hostname to be sent or deny a DHCP Lease....can that be done?
