Mandrake Control Center - Hardware - HardDrake, If it finds the card you get 2 
options, Configure Module or run config tool
also this from Linux Questions (for a different sound card)
modprobe snd-via82xx;modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe snd-mixer-oss;modprobe 
snd-seq-oss
and then afterwards you should run as normal user
$ alsamixer
and unmute the channels
then su to root and run
# alsaconf
and then
# alsactl store
so you'll have your settings next time you reboot
