Dealing with RPMS just let you know that problems exist.  Using tar.gz
files do not make these problems go away, they just mean that you will not
necessarily know about them until they have caused a problem, where it
might be too late.  If you really dont care, you can always use --nodeps
and take your chances.  At least then, you can do a report at any time and
see what dependancies you have actually broken.  On the other hand,
external repositories and tools like apt and yum exist so that the
dependencies are taken care of for you, in the right way, if possible.
