I reboot Sun most often... however our mainframe Linux get
rebooted alot too (maturity issue... of course that's not
a full machine reboot.. just the Linux). Sun demands
(and it really shouldn't do this) that you reboot after
installation of many patches. So we reboot at the request
of Sun. Our Sun cluster gets messed up sometimes and we
have to reboot it. Oddly enough, our Tru64 (DEC Unix) boxes
have incredible uptimes... shame HPaq thinks it's toast.
AIX can get confused occasionally as well. HPUX holds
up well.. but can be easily killed with a normal portscan.
Linux really, really holds up. Even when confused (which
isn't terribly often), I'm usually able to right things without
having to bring the platform down.
