You have a very valid concern. Microsoft has crushed competition in the past by either including competing technology (Windows Media Player for instance) in the OS or by just not supporting competing technology and making it difficult to install that technology (Sun's Java runtime).
The big problem is that many if not most web developers know that in order for MS users to view Java they will have to bounce off their web site to Sun's to get the JRE. So it is easier to just use ASP. Thus, demand for Java goes down in a sprial.
The only way to fight it is to tell regulators about it.
