I agree with Chris fully.

I've been running VMware since before 1.0 as well.  IIRC, 3.0 and 4.0 
were the only versions that I had to pay for an upgrade on.  I've got 6 
or 7 apps that I HAVE to own win98 for so I need a windows workstation. 
  For testing websites and apps it is a must since IE does act 
different, even if you adhear to the standards.

IMHO, if you're looking to run games, don't buy VMware.  Just dual boot. 
  The sound from a windows app running in VMware just hasn't gotten 
there, at least up to 4.0.  I haven't loaded 4.5 yet so I can't comment 
on that.

One other cost Chris forgot is that to run Windows you have to own a 
windows distrib.  So Bill is still able to get his $$$ out of you.
